Faith, it's not just for breakfast.

Shake it up with hope. Try a little love too!

Name:
MagicWoman
NOTE TO ANYONE NEW READING MY JOURNAL:

If you decide to add me as a friend - thank you! If you decide not to add me because I have a big list of friends on my own list - I am sorry you feel that way. I use filters and keep up with just about everyone through different filters I have set up. So if you think you would just be another name on a long list - fear not.

This is something new I've decided I would like happen. If you decide to add me, why not drop me a line. I'm sometimes slow to catch on that someone has been kind enough to add me. But if you don't want to - that's fine too, I'll eventually find you on the list.

Also, I only LJ during the work day (during downtimes and lunch). I do not LJ on the weekends (except on rare occasions). So if you don't hear from me over a weekend, never fear, I'll be back during the week.

All you need to know:

I am a friendly person and enjoy LiveJournal.

My cat Chuckie died October 16, 2001 (he was 17-1/2 years old and I'd had him since he was just six weeks old). We miss him so much. I would love to get another cat - but looking for that special feline. Cross your paws.

I am not a snow person - yet I live in a snowy part of the country.

I love all types of music and play the flute/piccolo.

I enjoy games - such Warhammer (I have a lizardman and frog army), LOTR Risk, Hero Quest (I really just like getting to name the characters) and a variety of other skill games.

I have one brother who is a Nurse Practioner (just completed his Masters degree 5/2002). He now works in Kentucky and married Audrey in Jamaica October 2004.

My dad was in the military so I have traveled around the United States quite a bit. I was born in Macon, Georgia (left at age 3 months); Orlando, Florida (left at age 1); Chicago, Illinois (left at age 4); Kingsport, Tennessee (left at age 6); Tampa, Florida (left at age 12); Kingsport, Tennessee (Dad retired, Mom's parents lived in Kingsport) (left at age 24); Chicago, Illinois (left after 3 months, relationship didn't work out and I didn't care for the snow); Greensboro, North Carolina (left at age 26); Dallas, Texas (left at age 30); Minneapolis, Minnesota (left at age 32); Dallas, Texas (left at age 34); Minneapolis, Minnesota (still here).

I am a legal secretary (AGAIN) in the public sector. Actually enjoying being in the mix of things again. I sing soprano with my work's chorus. Love it!

I've just completed a nine-month docent course at the Walker Art Center. I love being around art and creative people!

I'm an Australian Rules Footy fan! Started watching footy in 2007. I'm a fan of (and in order of baracking): Western Bulldogs, Geelong Cats, Collingwood Magpies and Carlton Blues (not sure how much I'll be baracking this team since Fevola was traded to the Brisbane Lions).

I love the colors red, purple, gold and black.

Personality Type: ENFP (yes, that's makes me a creative, free spirit!)(http://typelogic.com/enfp.html http://keirsey.com/personality/nfep.html)

IMPORTANT!
I have placed emergency contact info as the first, private, entry of my journal.

Good quotes:
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Not all those who wander are lost." J.R.R. Tolkien

"Moderation is for monks"
- Robert Heinlein

"Looking at the stars always makes me dream, as simply as I dream over the black dots representing towns and villages on a map. Why, I ask myself, shouldn't the shining dots of the sky be as accessible as the black dots on the map of France?"
-Van Gogh

"Wouldn't it be great if people could get to live suddenly as often as they die suddenly?"
"Not everyone is lucky enough to understand how delicious it is to suffer."
- Katherine Hepburn

"'Impossible' is a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing."
- Muhammad Ali

Girls got balls. They're just a little higher up, that's all. - Joan Jett

I'm just like every modern woman trying to have it all. A loving husband, a family. I only wish I had more time to seek out the dark forces and join their hellish crusade. - Morticia Addams

Take my love. Take my land.
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black.
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land And boil the sea.
You can't take the sky from me.

Have no place I can be since I found Serenity.
...you can't take the sky from me.
